what are the pros/cons of boston college and villanova? academics, athletics, diversity, social scene…
thanks a lot!

Hm perhaps i can retry this question? With less than one month it's getting crazy...
It is pretty much down between BC, Nova, and Holy Cross (for liberal arts).
Any opinions would be great! Thanks!

I personally liked the small size of Holy Cross and the low faculty to student ratio where you get to know your professors well. At larger schools it is difficult to get access to the professor or you have to deal with graduate teaching assistants. Holy Cross is strictly undergraduate and all teaching is done by PhDs.

What's the money situation like?

The OP has not shared enough info. in order for anybody to offer a reasonable response. On the basis of the scant info. offered, BC's location is the best among the three schools, and BC--being the largest of the three--should offer the most in terms of diversity & academic options. And the best parties and athletics.

I'm sorry, I was just wondering how people's opinions/reactions to the schools differed and if there were major differences between VU and BC. I'm still undecided for my major, but I got in EA for arts and sciences. Villanova has given me a lot more money than BC (just on need base, which is confusing), but I am trying to just establish which school have given people the best experiences. Also, do you believe a middle class girl from CT will "fit in" better at one place? If I don't like to drink a lot, will this have more of an impact at one school versus the others? I'm just looking for some uncensored opinions, nothing extremely specific. Thank you.

i visited both recently and heres my opinion

bc has a nicer campus than villanova and is in a better area

academics are betters for cas at bc but business is comparable. engineering is better at nova because bc doesnt have engineering

party scene is bigger at bc that nova

sports as a whole are bigger at bc....but basktball is bigger at nova

it depends how much money is a factor for you but it i was paying same price i would choose bc....if money is significantly more at nova then i would choose nova because theyre not that different

i concur with tennisboy. BC's name also carries a little bit more weight

ya it does. bc is nationally recognized, while nova is known only for basketball, business, and engineering

Son was accepted to, and visited both, in 2006. BC all the way!

Thanks for all the opinions! It seems like BC is beating Villanova, but it will still be a tough decision...
I know this is a bit off topic, but do you know if small outside scholarships will take away from your financial aid package at BC? Villanova said they allow you to keep all your scholarships until your demonstrated need is met (and they usually don't meet that). At that point, they'll take away loans first. Just wondering if BC is the same way.
