Bc welcome wagon

Yesterday was move in day for Freshmen. We were directed to the dorm by sign and campus police and greeted at the dorm by the BC Welcome Wagon (upperclassmen) who volunteered to work all day moving everyone in. i asked if they were being paid and was told this is “service to others”.

Let me say that as a parent of multiple college students, BC did a great job organizing and moving 3000 kids in yesterday. Everyone had a smile on their face and is was truly welcoming.

Kudos to Res Services and the administrators that organized this and to the BC students who served their fellow students and their parents…JOB WELL DONE BC

I absolutely agree. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Very organized !! Job VERY well done BC!!

Dear marbles44 and beach17 : Four years back when my now-graduated BC eldest was entering Medeiros, our ever lasting impression was the helpfulness of the Welcome Wagon crew on Upper Campus and, of course, correspondingly on Newton Campus. He did Welcome Wagon one subsequent year and our younger child, now a BC junior, has been part of the Welcome Wagon for two consecutive years.

The only reward for Welcome Wagon is the t-shirt and being able to move into the dorms 48 hours prior to the freshman move-in date. (You spend Wednesday in training sessions and getting unpacked yourself!)

This is just one of the great traditions at Boston College.

Now, when your entering freshman tells you next summer that they want to move back early in order to be part of Welcome Wagon, please encourage their participation.

Welcome to the Boston College family! Embrace the next 44 months of your children’s lives!

I just had dinner with a welcome wagon volunteer (who worked a 7 hour shift yesterday), and ice cream with a whole crew. Quite an impressive bunch of young adults, and a wonderful entrance to BC.

I’m glad to know that others shared in our positive experience. The BC kids were great to us and everyone else that they served last Thursday…Thanks to all of them! Go Eagles!!!
