Bcs?

there’s no way that would happen. The computers have the Big 12 rated very high and Big 10 rated very low. Look at Kansas State’s computer ratings. Even the humans have Michigan really low, and that’s because our SOS is perceived to be very low and we played 8 home games.

I agree that the odds are remote (I have said as much above), but there is no telling what will happen to Oklahoma State if they end their season with two straight losses.

As for Michigan’s SOS, although certainly not strong, Michigan State and Nebraska are solid and Notre Dame is decent.

The best case scenario is for Georgia and Oklahoma to lose. If they do, Michigan is guaranteed a top 14 spot.

I am not sure Baylor can overtake Michigan either. Three-loss teams typically do not fare well in human polls, although a decisive victory over Texas could do the trick.

Like I said, a lot of football remains to be played, we will all have to wait and see.

It doesn’t really matter as long as we finish in the top 18, and either Michigan State/Wisconsin fall out of the top 14 because if your conference only has one automatic qualifier for the BCS, a team from your conference can qualify for an at-large bid if they’re in the top 18.

^that is incorrect. I know Mark Schlabach (whatever his name is) had an article about that but people have been quick in pointing out the error. While that rule exist, another rule dictates that eligible teams in the top 14 must be picked before they go to the top 18 field, and since the Big East champ is not in the top 14, we have enough eligible teams to fill the BCS bowls from the top 14 (boise was the odd man out).

The only way Michigan secures a BCS bowl is if it finishes ranked in the top 14. There is a reasonable chance that will happen. It is highly unlikely that Georgia will beat LSU, so unless Baylor destroys Texas, Michigan will be ranked in the top 14 next week.

On Saturday root for:

Georgia loss
Anything other than a close game in Indianapolis
Oklahoma State victory
Iowa State upset of K-State

Any two of the four should be enough.

and root for Vir Tech over Clemson
