<p>Ok, so I took D to do the "pack and hold" and discussed with the general manager the coupons/no coupons debate.</p>
<p>Here's their ALL COMPANY policy.</p>
<p>Purchasing IN store (to take that day) ONE coupon from them OR Linens and Things, expired or not. They do NOT have extra coupons behind the counter. If you don't have one, the discount will not be applied.</p>
<p>ANY "registry" program (wedding, college, OR "pack and hold") UNLIMITED "20% off one item" AND "$5 off $15 or more one item", from them OR Linens and Things, expired or not.</p>
<p>This does NOT apply to shipping directly to a campus or private party or online orders. </p>
<p>As a quick story as she helped us, just yesterday at their store a couple came in to "complete" the items still not received on their wedding registry. They had AND USED 62 coupons, and they saved over $400!</p>
<p>SOOOOO...that said, the huge discount benefit is to do a "pack and hold" (which is considered a registry). Use ALL your BBB & LNT coupons, expired or not. "Pack & Hold" is a great way to shop if you're moving too. It doesn't have to be college related. </p>
<p>GM said if you encounter a problem ask for the GM or Mgr on duty.</p>
<p>Have never had a problem using many BBB coupons at BBB - expired or not. Have always needed 10 coupons if I purchased 10 things....but hasn't mattered if they were expired or not. Have not been able to use expired Linens and Things, though....only current ones. </p>
<p>Haven't even needed to ask for "behind the counter" coupons.... lots of coupons isn't much of a problem...I think they send me at least one a week!</p>
<p>Registry is a good idea, though, for those picking up at another location.</p>
<p>I have been saving up my BB&B coupons for several months. Took S into store and used a $5 coupon on a $20 item and a bunch of 20% coupons on all his other stuff. Had no problems whatsoever.</p>
<p>Interesting thread. We were told at our local BB&B last week that we could use up to 5 coupons at check out...we happily used the 3 we had with us. </p>
<p>I've never asked to use an expired coupon but will certainly stop discarding them when they expire!</p>
<p>This is the first I've heard of "pack and hold." </p>

<p>I bought the items my S needed at our NY store and plan on picking it up (Pack and Hold) in RI where he will be attending school. I asked if I should pay now in NY and was told to wait until I get to RI. I called the RI store and was told by a manager that to save time I should use a credit card over the phone now (and can use coupons now-didn't say how many I could redeem). He said that if I pay now, I just come in and pick up my items. If I wait to pay when I get there I will be on line for awhile because they have over 200 pack and hold orders and expect even more before school starts. I was told I can't pay now in NY. so, I will call the RI store before the end of the week and probably pay by Credit card now to save time. I can return anything we decide my S doesn't need in either RI or NY.</p>

<p>You can, BUT the coupon redemption COULD be held against you. Although based on the story we heard about the newlyweds, it seems perfectly reasonable to ME that you could indeed AND use your coupons (the newlyweds did!).</p>

<p>Sounds like a lot of stores don't follow their own policy. As long as many stores will accept many coupons, and expired coupons per visits, I have no complaints and will continue to shop at BBB. We found everything we needed in one visit.</p>

We were told to pay at the "pick up" store, not our local store. We didn't push the point, so I don't know if you can insist. Not sure why you'd want to, though. When we got to the pick-up store, S' pack and hold stuff was temporarily lost; they found it within about 1/2 hour. But if they hadn't, we wouldn't have wanted to already have paid for the stuff. Just more hassle, even if a refund would have been forthcoming.</p>
<p>For us, there's nearly an additional 3% savings in sales tax! So definitely paying at the other end.</p>
<p>True that some stores don't seem to "know" or "follow" their own policy (I have found that at MANY places, in many types of business), that's why getting it from a GM seemed goo enough to share, and I suppose why she suggested asking for a GM or MOD if issues arise.</p>
<p>Does anybody have any tip about where to get coupons for BB&B? I haven't been checking my newspaper, (obvioiusly the logical place to get them). Is there an online source?</p>
<p>I live near you, and I've been getting them regularily in the mail. So far, I've collected around 7. If they are in the sunday paper, its when there is a bbb insert.</p>
<p>I also read somewhere that although you can't use the coupon for online orders, you can bring the online invoice into a store with a coupon and they will give you the discount then! Also if you don't have a coupon with you when you purchase something in the store, bring in the receipt at a later date with a coupon, and they will give you a credit....Obviously check this out before depending upon it, but it sound like a great deal!!!</p>
