I just got a packet from my school offering bedding packages, seems rather resonable for the price just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing, if the quality is good if its actually a good deal etc.
Thanks!

The ones I got from my college were legit. Just remember...stains don't show up on light colored sheets. ifyouknowwhatimean...

The packages are convenient, but quality is not as good as you might pick out--however, price is low so maybe it's a question of you get what you pay for. Actually the only items my son complained about were the pillows and the mattress pad. Pillow was really cheap--kinda like the disposable ones you get in hospital and mattress pad was poor quality. The sheets and eggcrate mattress topper were fine. Towels were small--not really big enough to wrap around you and walk back to room from shower (at least if you are 6'3"). Comforter was ok and washed and dried easily.

We got one of these mailings. I found extra-large towels (66inch)on my own, and mailing has extra large towels measuring 60 inch in length.

We got one of those packages when D was starting college. It wasn't bad- pretty much a one or two year item, though. Not great quality- but more than adequate.

We got it our son's first first year. It was expensive but it was right there the day he moved in. We paid for the convenience.

We found the quality very poor and ended up throwing out most of the items. You are much better off buying the pieces you need at a discount store where you can pick out the items. Some of the chains let you order and have the items sent directly to the school. Very handy if your student is going out of state.

If it matters to you, the sheets are poly/cotton; my kid is only used to cotton, so we've opted to just buy the items & wash them at home & then have him bring them up when he goes to school in the fall. He may just buy the rest at Target (or similar) after he gets to school.

Just one question- Are all XL sheets uniform in size? I ask, b/c a letter from the university came that said some kids did not have sheets that fit, and that they guarentee that these sheets will fit.

i saw that in the info we got also. i think its a "marketing" ploy to scare parents into buying their sheets. you should have no problem finding XL sheets on your own

Thanks, that is what I thought. It made me wonder though. I found some very nice flannel sheets on Amazon for very little money, thanks to the tip from fireflyscout. One set was around $8.99 (can't beat that). I already have them, and they seem very nice.
