Hey, I'm thinking about taking AP Art History next year through FLVS and I was wondering if anyone knew if that course is any good. If I do take it, it will be in addition to these classes (and before anyone says anything, I know it's not a very heavy course load--my school doesn't offer many AP classes) and I'm kind of unsure if that's a bad idea or not:
Pre-Calculus
AP US History
DE English Comp
Chemistry Honors (we don't even have any dual enrollment courses in science... it's pretty sad)
DE Sociology
French 3

Anyway, if I do take it, I'll probably start the course in June or July, that way I'll have a month or so before the exam to focus on just studying for it (and APUSH) instead of work for the class...

My D hasn't taken it on-line, but she's taking AP Art History, APUSH, AP Lang, AP Chem, Honors physics, and Honors pre-calc all at the same time, and she's not having any difficulty with that schedule, pulling A's in all the classes. I suppose though it depends on each person, how well they pick things up, how disciplined they are in completing work without letting things back up ... stuff like that.

I didn't think it's a very hard course at all. You need to know the pictures, basic timeline, and read a review book and that's about it. I didn't even bother to read the textbook. As for schedules, AP classes are way overrated, you can handle the load, trust me :P

Thanks for all the responses. I think I will take the class. Plus, if I do decide to major in Anthropology (which I'm considering), it won't hurt to have the knowledge.

Elleweb, AP art history is a really good class like the others have mentioned; however, FLVS classes are incredibly time consuming. I took Microeconomics a while ago (one of the easier classes) and I spent basically all my time on it.
