I have heard from several people that at some colleges and universities that admissions love students who are heavily involved in the arts. My D is applying to several schools which I feel are target/reach, and people have told me that because she has been very involved in dance since the age of 3 (does competitions for last 8 years) and has played violin in middle and high school orchestras, this will give her an edge. If it comes down to her application and someone else's whose scores and gpa are similar, she may very well get picked because she has been very committed to both of these activities for many years. What are your thoughts on this?
