Belmont

Would coming out of belmont of lipscomb give me a better opportunity of getting into vanderbilt. I have talked with both schools and both have said that they have great relations with Vanderbilt and that there students have a great placement rate, but im not sure if this is them just trying to get my tuition dollars or if this is legitimate if anyone could please let me know. I continue to ask so many questions because im trying to figure out what is the best way to get into vanderbilt as it is my ultimate dream to go there.

If I were you, I would focus on really loving whatever you school you are admitted to instead of trying to use one as a stepping stone to Vanderbilt or any other school since you could still be unsuccessful in your attempt to transfer.
Although Belmont is literally a stone’s throw from Vanderbilt, the schools are worlds apart in just about every possible way. Lipscomb is basically a Church of Christ school with a high school on the edge of its campus. It is extremely conservative. Belmont is known as being very artsy. It does have a school of nursing but I don’t know how it ranks compared to other similar programs.
I personally don’t think very highly of either school for a lot of reasons. I would not recommend going to either. Just my opinion.

My D met many transfer students at Vandy during her sophomore year. They came from quite a few schools; one student was from Belmont. I don’t think the school had anything to do with whether or not the students were admitted to Vandy. The transfer students all had strong stats from high school as well as top grades in college prior to being accepted for transfer.

I agree that it’s important to choose a school you like. If you decide to transfer to Vandy & are successful, that’s great. If you don’t, though, you’ll probably stay at that school - so you will want to be sure you could be happy if you stay.
