Below 10%?

Hello,

I recently got my GPA and rank from guidance, and I am ranked
96/500 in my class, which puts me at about 20%. However, my
school calculates gpa with the high school classes that I took
in middle school, which means I have 4Bs on my transcript from
before I even began high school! I have seen the common data
sets for all the competitive colleges on my list, and they all
have high percentages (like 97%) of top 10% students that
make up their school. Without my middle school grades, I would
be ranked 19/500. Will my those Bs in middle school substantially hurt
my chances for getting into competitive colleges, or will will they be
lenient about it?

Thanks in advance.

Likely, they’ll recalculate your HS GPA. That, plus your test scores will be your main factors. Good luck.

are they including all your middle school grades?
in my district if you take geometry in 8th grade or earlier, that gets put on your high school transcript

@icy yes, they are including my middle school grades. I took Geometry, Algebra1, french1, and french2 during middle school, and since I wasnt as smart, I got Bs in all of them. I was just wondering how lenient they would be, since im not even in the top 10% of my class just because of those 4 grades.
