You could very possibly wind up at one of your listed colleges if you follow fencersmother's advice. She is offering you hope. You're resisting.

I might go to a state school and then try transferring. Possibly the only way?

I'm guessing you're instate for UGA? if so, there's a VERY reall possibilty you'll get in (and it IS a pretty dang good school, afterall) :)

And you may just LOVE it there (while working like a nerd) and decide to stay. Perhaps, if you work like a nerd and get all A's at UGA or similar, you can go to HYP for graduate school and knock our socks off!

Now, get working... NERD! And, don't feel that that title is an insult. Eventually, many people wind up working for nerds.

Thanks you guys for the advice. I might actually apply to UGA to see if I can get in or not. I'm just going to raise my SAT score and do well this semester to show what I can really do. Even if I don't get in, I'll try getting into state, and then transfer the second year if I can.

So do you guys think I even have a chance at getting into UGA? I know I can bring up my gpa before the senior year is over so I can get the hope scholarship.

like I said, i think UGA is a definite possibility (high match?)

I'm hearing it's a lot harder to get into UGA these days. They put emphasis more on gpa than Sat :(

Ugh, collegeboard says only 2% got admitted with lower than a 3.0 gpa :( But I know I can get over the top 95 percent who submitted their sat scores on each section.

What about syracuse, tulane, vanderbilt? syracuse says 9 percent had a gpa under 3, tulane says 12 percent under a 3.o and 2% under a 2.5!! And how about vanderbilt, it says 4% got admitted under a 3.0.

you can try at all those schools, but don't be shocked if you don't get in. I think you should follow fencersmother's advice.

my two cents

Any other advice?

Do you guys know any colleges taht would be safety, match, and reach?

Can someone tell me some colleges that are safeties, matches, and reaches?

Do you have any steller ECs? I mean real ones, no fluffy school clubs etc. I would say go to state school and try and transfer after working hard.

even if some schools do let in kids with <3.0, its usually because of exceptional circumstances (like the kid owns a million dollar business, interned for and has letter from jimmy carter, is black, etc.), which you dont seem to possess. SAT may very rarely make up for GPA.. but only 2400, not your yet nonexistent 2100.

So I have a very slim chance...Dang it

Or otherwise, no chance at all. But I'll still try my best! Any others?

Others? I'm still looking for chances except state. Ga State isn't even in the top 100, atleast i don't think.

Wait is a 2.7 a B- or a C? The stupid GPA system makes no sense at all

I did poorly in some classes throughout highschool. Im entering the 12th grade this year. I havnt taken my SATs yet but I am this year. i know i wont to to well or to bad just average. My GPA is slightly below a 3.0 i dont want to go to a community college. I want to go to a ok University so it can be a gatway for me to enter a good college. What are some colleges i can go to that will accept me?
