i was just wondering what the benefit is of taking an intro course at a local community college?

It'll save money, get you ahead... it'll be a hell of a lot easier than taking the class at UCLA...

Just make sure it transfers. I'd love to have taken a class this summer except I'm going to Europe.

how do i find out if it transfers?

"Hell of a lot easier"? Not true. People have the misconception that CC is a piece of cake compared to UC classes...this is not always the case.

Price shouldn't be your concern, but yeah, you will save time as it may help you get out of taking a class that is flooded with people and a pain to get into.

I said that because I've taken six classes at a community college... so, just from my experience, it's easier... but I guess that this may not be true of all community colleges or all classes.

I have heard many a story from a UC or CSU student looking to take a few classes at a CC for whatever reason, thinking it would be easy, and they had their asses handed to them.

I am just saying that it is not nearly as easy as some might think. All of this depends on many factors of course: student, teacher, and subject namely.
