Bentley University or Northeastern University

I have been accepted to both Bentley and Northeastern for the undergraduate business programs.

I know the campus feels are very different, however I love both of them. I am right now torn between the two schools for a number of reasons. I feel I would like the social life at Northeastern better, having a 50/50 guy/girl ratio (rather than a 60/40 at Bentley), being in a larger school, and being right in Boston. However, I understand the business program at Bentley to be a bit better.

One of the major factors in this decision is the financials. I do not receive any financial aid to either of the schools, however I earned the Presidential Scholarship at Bentley for about 15k per year for four years and no merit scholarship from Northeastern.

If anyone has any insight on whether Northeastern would be worth the extra investment or which school may provide better placement or a better program, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

A few comments –

  1. Bentley is a business oriented school – do you find that appealing?
  2. If you are very excited about co-ops then Northeastern has an edge in that area.
  3. All things being equal, finances are a part of the equation for most people – the difference of $60k over the four years is significant.

Both are going to offer pretty comparable business placement. I don’t think Bentley has any big edge there, if any.

@happy1 hit the nail on the head with the rest.

If fit is equal to you, and placement is more or less equal, it seems like Bentley makes sense. If Northeastern is a better fit, you have to decide if it’s worth it. Where does the extra 60K come out of? Loans?
