Hey everyone, college is right around the corner for me. I've decided to attend Bergen Community College and then transfer into the Rutgers School of Engineering. My chemistry, math and physics classes will transfer over without problem. Unfortunately certain classes like communications, drafting, and a computer language class will not transfer. As a result I'll be around 6 or 8 credits short at Rutger's (give or take).

Additionally during my first two years I will be missing 2 classes that are prerequisites for the School of Engineering. They are not offered at Bergen. Even though I am enrolled in Bergen can I take the required classes at Rutger's over the summer?

I talked to transfer advisors at Bergen and they were of no help, they merely told me "it's very competitive to get into the school of engineering and that I need a 3.5+ GPA".

Calculus I is required for Physics I, they are both in the same semester though. Can I get through Physics I while learning Calculus I? People are telling me no and I would imagine so, would it be wise to take Calculus I over the summer? I believe it is a 5 week program as opposed to the typical semester class of 12 - 18 weeks.

I appreciate any help on the matter, thank you!
