Mechanical Engineering Transfer

Hi all, I'm currently a student at Bergen Community College looking to transfer to Rutgers NB for Mechanical Engineering. I plan on declaring pre-med status, what do you think my chances of getting in the SOE are? By the time I graduate from BCC I should have somewhere close to a 3.8 GPA as well as being a member of phi thetha kappa since my second semester. I am in the computer science club, and soon to be president of the club come fall. I volunteer at a nearby hospital and have accumulated close to 100 hours of service. To top it off, I have 2 years of job experience.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t get accepted. However, most of the credits might not transfer over. Probably only the basic classes like math, chem, english and physics. You should finish calc 1 and 2 at BCC, chem 1 and 2 including lab, and english. Physics is iffy because engineers take physics 1 broken into 2 semesters because they go in-depth. Same applies with physics 2.

I would contact the SOE dean of transfers for more information for this. [Transfer from an External College | Rutgers University School Of Engineering](http://soe.rutgers.edu/oaa/transfer_external)
