What documents are you guys talking about? Do you mean high school and CC transcripts? Or something else? I thought the first thing you are supposed to do is SIR. Correct me if I am wrong.

The campus of UCLA is very beautiful. and my family want me to stay in LA, too. are you going to live on campus?

albertde—I sent all my college transcripts to UCLA. UCLA did not require High school transcript. however, Cal does.

@citusguy: Yeah, hopefully in one of the halls. I’ve heard good things. My family will be nearby as well.

@albertde: Yeah, transcripts. UCLA wants transcripts by June 1st for some reason. That means two transcripts from the same school as you have to send an updated one by July 15th when school is out. Kind of odd and I don’t think any other colleges are doing it.

That’s odd. What about those who appealed? If an appeal is granted after the 1st (which is mostly the case with UCLA) - they are already past the deadline.

I assume UCLA just wants the transcripts by the 15th of July.

They have three weeks period after their late admitted to summit SIR. I just read the UCLA website.

man… they could keep us waiting for another 2 weeks.
if you follow the 2009 thread thats what they did
I’m waiting on a job if I don’t get in.

However, in 2009, at least there are a lot of people receive the decisions by Jun 1st.

I wanna go to Berkeley. If i don’t get in by appeal I’m gonna work for a year and apply again. lol

you have a amazing 4.0 GPA, if you do need to apply, just apply for non-impacted major in L&S first, change your major to econ when you arrive there. Just make sure you get into first, the appealing processing is stressful.
But, I think you have a large shot this year, since the reason they say to you is because of your units. If you make a correction on your appeal, that should be a good chance. wish you luck.

how impacted is psychology at uc berkeley? As impacted as econ or business administration?

Thanks for your encouragement. I want to get in for Peace and Conflict Studies, which apparently isn’t that impacted but you never know for this year… I got my AA in Sociology so that’s what my classes were focused around… I figure if I don’t get in I will take more polysci and business then increase my chances and perhaps they will see some consistency. Either way, SFstate can be my backup.

:) . . . tic . . . toc . . .

@Pinoiako916
I don’t know about Berkeley but I know that recently psychology has been becoming more and more impacted for all colleges…

Hey, everybody, I find out this in the berkeley website,
"Less than 10% of appeals received were granted admission to all of our Colleges/Haas for transfer applicants for fall 2009. "
I think it’s better than 2-3%…haha

Holy crap, 10% is pretty encouraging. Thanks for posting that.

anyone else have a hard time sleeping at night thinkin “tomorrow is gonna be the day…”??? tho… im pretty sure tomorrow really IS gonna be the day (for some of us, at least)…

I got it out of my system on the 28th and 29th!

Hey, guys, I’ve been following this thread for a couple days (compulsively, while compulsively checking myberkeleyapp) and I finally had to make an account and participate. Read through the entire 09 thread and one person called in and was told that decisions that weren’t given by the 1st are dependent upon the number of SIRs Cal receives and processes. So, basically, we’re waitlisted. I’ll copy-paste the one from 09 below:

"Well, I just called admissions and spoke to the officer who looked over my appeal. Basically, what she told me was the following…

Decisions will be out this Saturday for most people. She’s still holding on to a couple more apps that barely made the cut, but are kinda “waitlisted” because they’re still waiting to see who will change their mind about attending. Tomorrow’s the deadline for them to wait…

They also group appellants in “tiers.” Most compelling, very compelling… etc
I was “very compelling”

Good luck to those waiting." - 06-11-2009, 02:27 PM

If you read the rest of the thread, most people get their decisions around the 11th. The ones who posted got rejected, but that was only three out of the several who were waiting. I figure if I got in I’d feel too guilty to keep posting and kind of rub it in the faces of my fellow applicants…maybe there’s hope?

@freshlaundry: im kind of skeptical about that… i thought they weren’t allowed to discuss applications on an individual basis.

dun dun dun… but WILL tomorrow be the day?
We shall not know until this dayeth comes.
:D

@Rize177:
The way that I see it is that they reserve the right not to discuss applications on an individual basis. If they want to, they will. For instance, when I called, they gave me det.s

@freshlaundry:
Oh, the obsessive checking of BerkeleyApp. I can relate. I feel like a crack addict. But its Berkeley and not crack. lol
