TRANSFERS,

Who has appealed and who has received an answer?

I appealed on May 9 and have yet to receive an answer. However, someone I know was accepted on May 18. Not feeling too good about not having an answer yet, but I really don’t know what to think.

Let me correct my previous post. The student I know who was admitted on May 18 apparently did not submit an appeal, but he received an e-mail from UCLA about housing, which he obviously thought was strange since he had been rejected. So he checked the decision site again and it said he was admitted. I know UCLA says they don’t have a waiting list, but does this mean that they have an “unofficial” waiting list??? If so, I wonder if it makes it more difficult for the appealing students to get offered a spot… All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed.

Oh wow, that’s so interesting. I didn’t know they had a waiting list for transfers. I’ve called admissions a few times and they told me that it will take “15 business days” (hence the “2-3 weeks” they say is actually 3-4 weeks). I submitted mine May 6, when the appeal site opened, so I should be getting an answer next Friday. The first time I called they told me that my appeal was received by the committee on Monday May 9.

Ahhhh, good luck to you!

No luck for me.

Off to Berkeley I go! So I’m not too bummed. =)

Same here, off to UCSB I go! haha good luck Berkeley’s a great school

Good luck to you as well!!!
UCLA would’ve been great, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be for either of us.
Oh well.
