From my understanding, you need to have completed eiter one full year of calculus or one semester of calculus and one semester of calculus-based stats (meaning the stats class will have a pre-req of one-semester of calc). If you will have completed one year of calc by the end of spring, you should be fine. Many CC's don't offer a Statistics course with a pre-req of Calc. Best of luck.

Actually, I took Intro to Statistics, Math 10, which does not require pre-req of 1 year calc......In my case, should I put MATH 10 in the UPDATE form?

I don't think that will work for the stat requirement, but I could be wrong. Here's what ASSIST says:

"The mathematics/statistics prerequisite: Prior to registering for Berkeley courses, you are expected to have completed two semesters of calculus OR one
semester of calculus plus one semester of statistics (with a prerequisite of calculus). At Berkeley, an additional math or statistics course must be taken before a student is admitted to the major.
For information regarding applying to the major during your first semester at UC Berkeley, please see http://econ.berkeley.edu"

Your best bet would be to call an Econ department representative. Does mycalapp have a page where you list what major pre-reqs you have taken? If so, could you post a link? Thanks

It's an "either or" thing. Just because it's listed doesn't mean you need it. It's clear from assist that you can have two semester of Calc OR 1 semester of calc and 1 semester of Stats. So it's on the update page but that doesnt mean it's required--either or.

anybody know the average admitted GPA for someone trying to transfer into econ. if say you had around a 3.7 with all core classes being finished in fall, two classes retaken because of F and eventaully getting an A, included with extensive work experience, what are the chances

even if you make them up with A's, its that bad to see them on a transcript?
I did not apply yet, if i decide to stay in california which dont think i will, want to go to the midwest, but my excuse would be attendance requirments becuase i have worked full time for the entire time i have attended school (1.5 years), my jobs during the time i got F's required sometimes upwards of 60 hrs, sometimes less

Does it affect an articulation agreement or application to ucla?

as long as u make clear the deal with ur job the F's hopefully will be overlooked for u... the Fs wont go in ur GPA either, but they will appear, no dout raising question in the adcoms minds.
