BERKELEY - GE requirement

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I am an international student, I wonder if I need to complete the "American History and Institutions" Requirements, such as Hist 7A, Hist 7B, or PoliSci1 for Berkeley.</p>

<p>Since the guidelines on assists shows that "U.S. residents who have not satisfied the American History and Institutions (AH&I) Requirements in high school may satisfy them before enrolling at Berkeley by passing with a grade of C or better (or P) an approved, UC-transferable community college course comparable to UC Berkeley's ....."</p>

<p>I am kinda confused if I need to fulfill the requirement. </p>

The AH&I requirements will be waived if you have at least 90.5 semester units (senior status) and hold both a current, non-immigrant visa (F is the most common) and an I-94 departure record. You must present your visa and I-94 record to the Office of the Registrar, 120 Sproul Hall, during the semester in which you will graduate.</p>

<p>3. I am an international student. How do I apply for a waiver of my AH&I requirements?</p>

<p>If you have accumulated at least 90.5 semester units (senior status) and hold a current, non-immigrant visa (F is the most common) and an I-94 departure record, you may ask to have your AH&I requirements waived by presenting your visa and I-94 to the Office of the Registrar in 120 Sproul Hall before the semester in which you will graduate.

<p>So that means if i have 90.5+ units in my senior year, I can wave it? Is that right?</p>
