@lindyk8 any updates on whether you can decline your offer after accepting it?
Not yet. But the wifi ppl called me back. I’m calling them later today.
@disyatov12 the wifi ppl told me most of the wifi issues are resolved and it’s pretty good in all units. We decided my daughter will stay with unit 1 mini-suites because all the reviews say they have the nickname unit onederful. Yeah, it’s a couple thou more than another we might choose, but there are perks.
So regarding being able to back-out or cancel in 6 months after acceptance, I don’t really know. My daughter is the one who emailed them and thus far she said they haven’t responded. But it’s not really an issue for her anymore. Your best bet is to email them at reshall @ berkeley.edu.
@ndn, I believe it shows up in the portal.
@disystov, re meal plan, I’m also feeling a bit better because it appears to include more than just meals. It’s the point system and you can get stuff at two markets, including toiletries and I assume other types of essentials. Plus, the new student stores section in sproul plaza seems like it might have options besides food. The meal plan site says the plan that comes with the housing is approx 10-12 meals a week. Since my daughter will probably be coming home first couple of months on the weekends and she doesn’t really eat breakfast (I know, not healthy!) 10-12 meals didn’t appear to give any options for eating anywhere else except campus. But now I guess she can use the points for other items as well.

Supposedly if you want to eat a lot, go to the all you can eat places like Clark Kerr.
@lindyk8 where on the housing application is the option to request a different offer? As soon as I sign in I’m taken to the “contract completed” page where I can read the terms and conditions, cancellation policy, etc.
I don’t know. We haven’t accepted yet. I think, as I recall reading, you do it after you accept. It’s not part of the actual accepting process.
