isnt the deadline for dorm 6/5/2006? I am going to look for an apartment or a room near campus. dorm costs too much

Yes, I'm not sure if the deadline is 11:59 tomorrow or tonight. You get more financial aid if you live in the dorms; it can equal out.

I finally submitted mine yesterday. I still wasn't sure what I wanted, but I bit the bullet and did it. I don't remember exactly what I put where, but I know my top choices were anything in Channing-Bowditch. Then I think I said Unit 2 - whichever unit Wada is in. My last choice was a single in Clark Kerr or something.

gabe,

so can i still change that on my fafsa? i put down living off campus on my fafsa and i got about 4000 dollars of subsdized loan per year. do you think i'd actually get grants if i put down living on campus on my fafsa?

Your loan would cap at 5500, so you would probably get around $1500 more in grants.

"My last choice was a single in Clark Kerr or something."

haha...that was my first choice. What do you know about Clark Kerr that made you pick it as your #5? Just curious.

Oh, just that there aren't many transfer/upper division people there, I guess; it was more a matter of liking my other options better. That, and it's like a million miles away from everything.

I'm a little jealous of you guys and your on-campus housing. But oh well...I'm dedicated to my gf :p

anyone living in the units? i picked unit 3 to meet other transfers...

apparently..after reading certain posts..I picked the big loser dorms. Oh well...=( I'm almost 100% going to be living off campus...call me crazy, but I really need my own room. Too bad there aren't more single dorm rooms..

haha, i agree with you talkell...

I actually requested all singles for my preferences. I doubt I'm going to get any so I'm probably going to be living in my own studio next year. I just don't think I can adapt to living with a roommate at this stage of the game...

I don't know why you guys are so set on singles. The privacy isn't THAT BAD, and it's a good experience to live with roommates. Even the privacy issues with the coed bathrooms in the dorms are exaggerated I think.

I selected a single myself. I cannot stand living with other people. I spent the past year sharing a bedroom in an apartment with someone and there are MANY times where I just want to murder her in her sleep. >_>

It's just time for me to have my own place. I need my space, my way. I'm picky like that, and I'm willing to pay extra for it.

I think that makes more sense, if you are accustomed to a roommate situation and are deciding against it for the future.

haha, I don't have a genuine reason like that. I know living with someone would change me for the better...but I guess I'm just spoiled and would rather skip that learning exeperience...haha...I think it comes down to a matter of personal preference really...

I didn't do much research--picked a couple options in C-Bowditch, and doubles in Units 1, 2, and 3. But the probable scenario is a studio off campus.

there's two options for Unit 3 doubles, one says: transfers and upper division only and another doesn't. Is the first reffering to spens-black hall then?

Yes, willdo, the one that is transfers and upper div only is spens-black, ie TUD.

which one's did you end up preffering gabe?
