Oh my god, I know you guys have threads about Cal day already, but I think we need to reiterate its beauty. I don't know what it is, but because of ppl like silence and polite antogonis I started to get the feeling that cal aint that hot, but wow WAS I WRONG!

The campus is absolutely drop dead amazing. That's what I think at least. I mean did you the size of each of the buildings. Everyone is gigantic and beautiful and the doe library seems like your back at the louvre or sumthin. The life sciences building, omg, that is beauty man. I mean it is just crazy how nice it was. I like it better than MIT, and Harvard's campus's. And the MCB department seems really kick@$$, i dont know, i know im from tx, and itll be out of state tuition but dang going to cal day got me thinkin.

Q, Princeton is indeed right up there, quite classic a campus. But Cal's site, flora and weather combination is really something to behold...

Pulkit, I've been really stunned at the stuff I've read about the campus on this site. It's great you got a chance to judge for yourself. I wish every OOS applicant had that same opportunity.

Where in TX are you from?

Here are some souvenirs to keep you going till Fall:

Pulkit, like you, I was floored by the Life Scicen building. But there were some parts that were just ugly. Especially the buildings in front of the Sproul Hall; they look ungly and run-down.

Hahaha yeah. They (actually, he) is really unfairly presenting Berkeley. It's a beautiful campus. I suggest people here to not listen to him and actually visit Berkeley, and decide for yourselves.

ya, its crazy how ppl have such radically different views on the issue of berkeley, or college in general i guess. i thought its an aesome school, i ono

It's to the left side if you're looking with your back toward the Sproul Hall. The Golden Bear is nice, but the 4 or 5 story building facing it that's ugly. It looks old and dirty.

Whose damn idea was it to build a campus on one giant friggin hill?

Sorry. I hate Foothill.
[/quote]

I thought it was really nice and a great contrast to the main campus and city. It offered a quiet, secluded, hilly area for those students who prefer that type of a surrounding.

another reason to ignore all the pessimists and whiny *****es on this board and think for yourself. considering everyone here is going to college, maybe its about time we all decided to take that path.

LoL, somehow all the pro-UCB'ers think that somehow people thinking for themselves will make people agree with them. That's the groupthink of Berkeley for you.

Yeah, the campus aint bad and the weather is pretty good late spring, early fall. But you'd be OVERGENERALIZING to say the Berkeley experience was great from just a one-day visit without going to any classes, meeting the general student population, or discovering what the housing situation was like.

Don't use the term groupthink, CantSilence. You're the one who is under the influence, at least as much as these "pro-UCBers" you hate so much. Where's the line between those that legitimately like Berkeley and those that are under what you call groupthink? Or I guess any fan is, right? Right?

Yeah because everyone who likes Berkeley must be under groupthink ::rolls eyes::

Yes it's overgeneralizing to say the Berkeley experience is great from a one-day visit, but it's also overgeneralizing to say the Berkeley experience sucks from one student's perspective. Just because it's your opinion that most Berkeley students are morons doesn't make it so.

I know, I can't say that Berkeley is forever amazing from one visit, but I genuinely liked it. I don't think the buildings are SUPER great but I guess they're nice.

It's fairly easy to adjust. On average, it only rains about 25 days more in Berkeley than LA, although the amount of rain is much greater. It's also about 15 days more per year than San Diego. UCLAri looked it up and posted it on some thread.
