Anyone know if the Mass Communications major at Cal is as highly impacted as UCLA's Communication Studies? Any numbers out there on how many applicants there were and how many got accepted? Thanks in advance.

me too, really want to know how many applicatants there were and how many got accepted?

Berkeley's mass communications major is capped (impacted). It is still a mystery of how Berkeley really admits students, they say they just admit by division and not by major so in theory how many students apply to an individual major does not matter. However if your major is a capped major at Berkeley they say it is crucial that you finish your major prerequisites and earn good grades in these courses. Here is a page showing the capped majors and some info on these majors L&S Major - Capped Majors. It even states that capped majors are harder to get into then other majors in the link but it might only be referring to non transfer students when it says that. The admit rate to the Undergraduate and Interdisciplinary Studies is 38% which mass communications falls in as stated on the transfer flyer http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/9258_Info_TransAdm.pdf. So although it is a capped major it is still in theory easier to get into than the social science division.
