rhetoric vs. media studies at cal

hello,
i was wondering which of the two majors is the least difficult to get into?? rhetoric or media studies and also can you minor in either of them?? thanks!

yeah i’m wondering about the same question. also. hows mass communications at cal? feedback would be appreciated thanks

Mass Communications IS Media Studies now.

Mass Communications/Media Studies is a little bit more difficult to get into. Cal admits students by division. Rhetoric is in the Arts & Humanities division with an admit rate of 46% while Mass Comm/Media Studies is in the Interdisciplinary Studies division with an admit rate of 38%.

thanks grey, jw, my college ( de anza), even though it’s a huge cc, doesn’t offer any articulated courses/prereqs in mass communications/media studies.what does that mean?

Yes it does. Look. ->

I hope you haven’t gone this long thinking that while not starting on US History, Political Science, and either Anthropology, Economics, Sociology or Psychology. D:

omgoodness, but
[ASSIST Report: DAC 08-09 UCB Articulation Agreement by Department](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST)
TOTALLY confused me.ahh! anyways. thanks! oh yeah, so if I finish the prereqs for media studies, is there a possibility that I can double major in econ? are they from the same department?
grey-please check your pm

actually, your right. If berkeley accepts students by departments. then that means I have to be in the same department as economics, in a different major( say, political science, political economy of industrial socieites, etc. website: [Prospective Majors](http://emlab.berkeley.edu/econ/ugrad/prospect_related.shtml) ) , in order to be eligible to double major in economics. is that correct?
