Berkeley MCB Transfers

Has anyone transferred into the MCB major without having finished the organic chemistry sequence? With my schedule, I will only be able to complete one semester's worth of organic chemistry and assist.org says two things:

Complete as many lower division major requirements (see below) as possible
before transfer.

and

-You must complete all lower-division requirements, with the exception of
physics, before transfer.

Seems inconsistent. Can anyone shed some insight?

A lot of things that show up on assist.org are just generic guidelines that are reused in many different places. If there are specfic guidelines that conflict with the generic guidelines, I think it's safe to assume that the specific ones supercede the generic ones.

In other words, based on what you've posted it looks to me like you do need to complete all lower division requirements except for physics.

ME! I'm finishing the first semester of Organic + Lab at community during the summer before I head over to Cal in the fall and take the 2nd semester there.

and I am an MCB major. don't sweat it. just look good in the app, and you'll be fine. they make exceptions for those who have potential to succeed, but just haven't the time to finish lower divisons.

Although technically you aren't admitted into MCB, just the College of Letters and Science. But why stray from you're intended major? seems like a lot of work unless they were relatively similar.
