Several reasons, but note:
It’s pretty typical to adjust need-based awards down if you have another scholarship removing some of your need (as the college defines it). You should call UCB so you will know exactly what they will do.</p>
<p>Thanks for the haste response MS :)! Knowing that info is making my scholarship hunt a bit discouraging since there’s no incentive to ask teachers for letter or reccs and write chunky essays :(!</p>
<p>I’d still check with UCB. Many schools allow you to use outside scholarships to replace work study or replace some loans. Both wins for the student.</p>
