Berkeley vs Cornell. Please help me on this one.

i think i am leaning more towards berkeley now…with the assumption that i do get off the waitlist.

Berkeley (as well as UW) are going to get less-and-less amazing as the stunning budget cuts in undergrad education take effect. At UW, it is already the case that fewer and fewer students graduate in four years, and I think you’ll see that happening at Berkeley as well.

Five years from now, you’ll see that reflected in the so-called rankings.

what does UW stand for?

UWashington.

Get back to us when you get off the Cornell waitlist. I would still go to Cal.

This gets old do some research you don’t think Cornell isn’t going to have problems with at least a 30% loss in endowment and cuts from it’s state funding. Give me a break. Berkeley just got 115 million in stimulus research funding and will benefit from increases in Pell Grants much moreso than Cornell. Berkeley has more room to increase tuition whereas most people, even upper middle class, aren’t going to pay much more go to Cornell.

Cornell spends 5.5% - 6% annually from its endowment. Berkeley gets most of its money for undergraduate education from the Legislature. Big, big difference.
