called up berkeley and they said they expect to start letting people go off the waitlist by the end of this week/ beginning of next week
not sure what “letting people go off the waitlist” means

AHHH NERVOUS. lol

@FUnderwood Thanks for the info. What day did you speak with someone?

letting people off the waitlist = send them an email informing of their rejection/admission.

@LNmomof2 i spoke with an admissions director on friday via phone
has anyone recieved anything yet? its monday already yeah

So we won’t have to login to the system? We get an email? Is that for sure or speculation?

Who said we get an email? Can u kindly confirm please
Also has anyone recieved anything from berkeley yet?

i just called and talked to a rude woman who didn’t provide any info whatsoever
maybe someone else will have better luck finding out when/how waitlistees will find out?

@FUnderwood email was my speculation because i guessed that the admissions would at least notify that our decisions are up. But i know for a fact that if our decisions are up, we offcially check it on my berkeley application ( should be another separate box under the original letter to direct us ).

Does anyone know the majors of the people who have gotten in? Because even though they are taking people from waitlist, it also has to do with the number of people per major… I was waitlisted for College of Chemistry

@4thEdition i just called the ug admissions and the lady said that no one at this point has gotten off the waitlist. I asked for an estimated time and she just said no later than june 1 (well duhh thats what it says on the decision site).

gosh…bureaucracy

I hope we know by the end of this week. It’s really irritating to be still waiting for college response when you sent in your SIR. Plus I really want to find a roommate, visit the campus, and buy merchandise… #waitliststruggle

For those who are in the wait list, where have you been admitted?

oxford, uk (and lse etc)
berkely was the only US application for me

Do you guys think that the decisions will come out in batches? Let’s say for the sake of argument that there are 100 spots available. Will Berkeley notify 100 people, give them a week to decide, and then if only 50 of them commit offer spots to another 50? Or do you think they offer spots with a general idea of what their yield will be (i.e. offer 300 people admission for 100 spots)?

It is official! People have started getting in off the waitlist.

Source? And how did they get notified? I did notice the my Berkeley page down a few times during the day…

@4thEdition source??

my berkeley page still gives me my wait list letter
