I'm a transfer from another UC school. I want to find out whether or not I have to take certain classes still or if my school's equivalents knocked them out. When do I find this information out? As in, which classes I've received credit for and which I still need to take? Should I contact my academic adviser?

yeah that’d probably be best. or you could try assist.org

Like I said, I’m from another UC school. I don’t think assist covers me.

Wait, you aren’t considering LA anymore??

And to answer your question, I am trying to get in contact with major advisers to see what I will neet to take once I transfer.

Nah I’m still considering it. Just need to get all the facts either way. UCLA’s more clear cut as to which classes will transfer since we’re both on the quarter system. Berkeley’s kind of a toss up.

Yeah, contact your major/department advisor. I was on the phone with the Cal’s college of natural resources today and we tried to pinpoint what courses would completely transfer over. I only ran in to one issue with 2 math courses and 1 upper div econ course I took at UCSC, but everything else seemed to have its “equivalent” at Cal. She said I would still receive credit and that I can have an more in-depth analysis of my credits if I actually went and visited her.

All my lower-div prereqs were basically exact equivalents, so there’s usually no problem in that area. I just used assist.org and compared courses from UCSC -> CC -> UCB and apparently that worked perfectly.
