Berkeley won't let me update info

<p>So I emailed them to tell them I'm a Intel STS Semi, and this is what they responded with.</p>

<p>Dear ******,</p>

<p>Out of fairness to all applicants, Berkeley does not permit or review
unsolicited information. If the campus requires additional information, a
form will be displayed in your personal checklist on our secure applicant
website, MyBerkeleyApplication. Typically, unsolicited information or
changes to your application will not alter our final admission decision.
PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE providing new information with correcting false or
misleading information on your application. If you have provided
information which is no longer true (e.g., you have a grade change or you
have dropped a class) you must immediately notify Berkeley in writing
about this change.</p>

<p>Thank you,</p>

<p>UC Berkeley
Admissions Staff</p>

<p>Uh wth?</p>

<p>Don't bother updating them. If you get rejected, then this is grounds for appeal -- "significant and compelling new information."</p>

<p>Hmm, but I thought it might also help my chances of getting a scholarship. And how is updating "unfair" to other applicants?</p>

<p>I wouldn't worry about it because no one else will be able to update their application either.</p>
