Berkshire School

Any information on this school? Applied and have an interview tomorrow. From NY. Football, Wrestling and lacrosse. Full pay. Good grades. Good SSAT. and alot of other extracurriculars. School looks really nice when we passed today. Surrounding town is nice as well. So if anyone has any info or tips, well appreciated.

I am also interested in finding out more about Berkshire - from an arts perspective if possible. Website discusses arts options, but every time I hear of Berkshire in the news it is always sports related. I am worried that somewhat like Brewster - it claims to have art/dance but that stuff is relegated to a back corner of an aging building and it is not taken too seriously.
Fun is fun - I seem to remember you had a child attend Berkshire at some point…if I am not mistaken could you share some thoughts on this hidden gem?

Send a PM to Fun is Fun. He has a son there now.

fif is a little busy now following the BU-UVM NCAA hockey semi online… GO YOU BU TERRIERS!!!

Will respond tomorrow – D is a happy Fourth Former at Berkshire.

Go UVM PHISH Heads!!!

There was recently a student at Berkshire who posted several times. He was most enthusiastic about the school, and he stated that for him it was a much better choice than a hades. I do not remember his online name.

His name is Muastot.

fif assumed game was on ESPNU – is know happily watching on ESPN2 – 2-0 Terriers in
2nd – Sarum – you went to USC, what do you know?!?

My younger brother went to UVM is all.!

Ok , Switching to BU rooting, a Salisbury Alumni is playing for the Terriers of Boston, Steve Smolinsky # 8 !

back to back goals!

Art studios are in the basement or lower level. Music and dance are in an aging building that will be renovated sometime.

Actually, two Berkshire grads play for UVM…

BU wins 5-4 if/when they beat Miami of Ohio its their 5th National Championship…

I bet BU because of the Salisbury Grad on the team!:)

One hears about the Berkshire sports because the sports department has a well-oiled publicity machine; to get an overall evaluation of the school, you will need to look deeper.

In our area, Berkshire is the safety school (and a very good and honorable one) for kids coming out of high end pre-preps, such as Eaglebrook and Bement.

hello! i have SOME info on the school because lots of people at my school (ims) matriculate there. ive also been in the same classes as the headmasters daughter since 5th grade…(shes in my history class this year!) haha but the school is great! im a violinist and the head of music is wonderful (i dont remember her name, but she was asian and VERY nice) and shes really trying to push the music department. They actually had a very nice building with 6 or 7 sound proof practice rooms (you can tell alot by the program from looking at how many practice rooms they have.) the admissions was very nice and it helps that ur a full pay. btw i applied there and got in, but i shall be attending elsewhere this fall. good luck!

What years did you play on the BU Hockey team FIF??

Ha – fif played intramurals at BU, does that count?

As someone who is accepted to, and planning to attend Berkshire, I absolutely love the school. There is such energy on the campus that it is amazing. Sports certainly play a huge roll at Berkshire (hockey being their most popular sport). They have a great Mountain program that I’ve not found at any other school.

Their arts do seem to take a backseat to the sports, but the girls – and boys!-- in the acting/dance programs have enough heart and tallent that you forget that there’s only thirteen people in the dance class.

It’s really an amazing school.
