Thank you very much ucbalumnus… I will consider CIS4A at West Valley. That may be too easy (the instructor [FredGeorge - West Valley College - RateMyProfessors.com](Fred George at West Valley College | Rate My Professors) and the material I mean), while I really want a world-class education from Cal lol.

I also plan to do the same as your above schedule (assume that I get accepted next year first :D), but I will take CS 70 (which I think is not very harder than my CC’s discrete math course) and one CS 61 course. In your opinion, which one of the 61 series is doable in summer session? I remember seeing someone in the Berkeley board said that CS 61A is hard as hell :(

It will serve in your best interest to take CIS4A, as it’ll make you more competitive of an applicant. You’ve got plenty of upper-division courses to finish, if you get accepted to cal, so getting a taste of its fine quality education wont be a problem lol.

Lol, my friend takes it at WVC and he says it’s a joke, even easier than De Anza or Foothill’s first programming course. I’d rather petition for another extra semester (if possible) than destroy my own “data-structure” knowledge. Don’t know why but I’m pretty sure the articulation staff of Cal make a mistake when they make CIS4A equivalent with 61B lol

You can preview the Berkeley CS courses here:

Note that the books and Scheme and Python language interpreters for CS 61A are free to download on the web.

You may want to look into the courses at Evergreen Valley, Ohlone, Diablo Valley, or Laney if the West Valley course does not appear to be high enough quality.
