<p>No it's not the idea of research. The idea of research is to expand upon a promising technology. Thus far, stem cells have not been proven as a promising technology to cure diseases.</p>
<p>The scientists in Korea have still not proven it's a promising technology; all they have done is successfully cloned the necessary parts. Now they have to implement them into humans. This is MUCH harder than actually cloning the necessary DNA. Once it has been proven to be useful I have no objections to using government money, but until then, there are much better things to use it for.</p>

<p>primitive you are very naive..government deals with literally millions of issues a year...there are a number of other areas of discretionary spending that the money can go to....and with George Bush in office, that's where it's going to go....he's not going to pass a stemcell research bill....he stated before he got in to office that he wouldn't, and he's going to hold by it....no matter how much i support government spending on stemcell research, it's NOT going to happen in the Bush administration unless Congress overrides with a 2/3 vote in both Houses, which probably WON'T happen in a Republican controlled Congress</p>
