Best Accounting Schools....still Searching

the title is pretty obvious....what r the BEST ACCOUNTING schools?....not necessarily best BUSINESS but best ACCOUNTING.....

This is taken from US News, but from Big 4 reps I've spoken with, it's basically in line with what they think as well:

UT Austin (McCombs)

U of Illinois Urbana-Champagne

UPenn (Wharton)

USC (Leventhal)

USC meaning university of southern cal or south carolina..?

Southern Cal.

thas wut im sayin but its pretty far from ny :( i really wanted 2 go there 2..... i luv USC but im afraid 2 live that far away (3000 mi.) is wake forest, case or tcnj up on that list at all?

If it's any consolation, 40% of USC's student body is from out of state and I know many New Yorkers. There's something to be said for going cross-country for college. As far as the other schools you mentioned, I'm not sure; US News requires a paid membership to see further down the list...

Wake is very good. High pass rate.

thx 4 the info guyz

Mcintire is ranked 19th in accounting, but 9th in undergrad business overall.

Uva Doesn't Hav Undergrad Accounting

Uhh...
yes they do

WHARTON is the best in all finance and accounting.

Wharton is solid in accounting, but McCombs is to accounting what Wharton is to finance.

My nephew graduated last year from Bentley as an accounting major. He loved the school and landed a high-paying job before graduation, complete with a fully paid masters program. I don't know where Bentley falls in the hierarchy of accounting schools, but I do know he had a good experience there.

bentley ain't that good in acctg. its good in business overall im lookin 4 greatness in strictly accounting

My accountant says for accounting you can go anywhere. That is just one cpa's opinion. I have a friend who is an accounting professor at a state college and he says that you want to look at the cpa exam first time pass rate, and make sure that there are a minimum of 100 students in that major. He suggests checking with the career office to see where their graduates found employment.

I think that William & Mary has a decent accounting program

Also look at Michigan. It has a very respected Accounting department. Last year, out of fewer than 70 accounting students, 17 got internships with PWC, 10 with D&T and 8 with E&Y. And out of 65 or so graduating accounting majors, 9 joined PWC, 7 joined E&Y and 5 joined D&T.

My Bentley nephew got a job with E&Y with a fully paid master's program at UVA.

"bentley ain't that good in acctg. its good in business overall im lookin 4 greatness in strictly accounting"

Bentley was originally founded as the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance.
