<p>I'm looking for one or two good ACT books that succinctly covers all sections.</p>

<p>The Official ACT Guide is the most accurate test. The best strategy book all around is most probably Princeton Review.</p>
<p>the official guide really sucks. practice tests are SO not accurate (difficulty level).</p>
<p>PR is okay too.</p>
<p>Here's what I used to get ready for the Feb. 9th test and I pulled a 23 to a 31 in english, a 22 to a 27 in Reading, and a 20 to a 26 in Science in only 3 weeks:</p>
<p>Real ACT Prep Guide for the practice tests (must have!)
Barron for math and english.
PR for the all the sections except reading.
McGraw 5 practice test for more practice.</p>
<p>i dunno, i disagree about the practice tests in the official guide not being accurate.. My scores were a little lower on them on the practice tests than the actual test, but still in the same range. I think it should be the only source of study. any other prep book is not made by the test makers.</p>
<p>BTW I used this book, and only this book, in about a week (doesn't take as long as it seems, an hour or two a day) and got 36 my first time. so, i definitely think it is a good way of studying.</p>
<p>I've used the PR for the SAT and I thought it was mediocre at best. You guys would recommend PR though?</p>

<p>i read and took the two practice tests in ACT for dummies (highly reccomend, my score on science for those were 23 adn 24 but i got a 33 on the real thing)</p>
<p>and took one practice test out of mcgraw 10 practice book</p>
<p>yeah i question the accuracy of the difficult level of the practice tests in the Real ACT book. i took one today and scored 35 math and 36 science...while my sat math was only 660...and by no means am i good at math.</p>
<p>I studied only from the real ACT book and took the ACT only once. I got a 35.</p>
<p>ipam, the ACT and SAT cover different math areas. ACT includes trig. I personally think SAT problems are harder while ACT problems are basic.</p>
<p>The ACT problems cover more advanced mathamatics...but they are not tricky.</p>

act for dummies is good for english & science
and the red book is obv the best for practice tests, but the mcgraw hill 5 tests is good too. :)</p>
<p>ACT math is much more straight forward, so they have a time limitation. The SAT math includes more reasoning, but is not so time-sensitive.</p>
<p>Do any of y'all like Kaplan's ACT book?</p>
<p>I took a couple practice tests in the Ultimate ACT book and it raped me. Kaplan's difficulty was closer to that of the actual ACT, in my opinion.</p>

<p>the Real ACT Guide is definitely the most accurate because they took tests from the actual ACT test; but the key is repitition I would get the princeton review 1296 problems book, real act prep book, and kaplan act premier program and take as many tests as you can.</p>
<p>I thought kaplan was pretty good on the english, so i recommend that</p>
<p>I recommend PR for the English portion. I thought it really helped me a lot.</p>
<p>I wish the ACT released more of the tests (more than just the 3 in the red book).</p>
