best and worst study songs?

Reckoner by Radiohead is great for keeping me awake and focused.

i agree with fall out boy! Or go back to the oldies go to old britney stuff. Light fun pop vocals!

Probably Aphex Twin’s “Ventolin”

I like pop, but Britney is a little too distracting when I’m trying to do homework.
Worst songs for studying: Friday, S&M , Gangnam Style, Call Me Maybe… most mainstream pop doesn’t mix well with Lewis Structures, rhetorical analysis, and Poisson distributions.

I am most definitely a fan of rainforest music! SO TRANQUIL!!

Jay Park - JOAH
Clazziquai Project - Brown Gold Eyes

The “Study Music Project” has a phenomenal selection.

Hmmm, there’s this really good song called Silence by Mother Nature!

LOL, Just kidding. I like classical music to play in the background when I study though. Or, I search up a study playlist on Youtube and let it play.

Frankly, I cannot listen to music and concentrate. I become enthralled by the music and oblivious to anything else around me.

My advice, listen to music that you find mediocre. Too good, you will want to just listen. Bad music is distracting. (Good/bad are completely subjective of course).

If you want the perfect medium between mainstream and classical, Vitamin String Quartet does covers of well-known songs that are amazing. They seriously have covers of almost anything you can think of, from any decade.

John Cage has a remix of that called 4’33".

Honestly, Shakira keeps me really focused when I’m studying. Except for spanish, if I try to study for Spanish while one of her spanish songs is playing, it is a mess.

the weird vibrating sounds really help, but yiruma is great too

Any songs from Nujabes or Onra

^^ I second that comment, Aruarian dance for the win

Friend of mine wrote an article on this recently, perhaps his recommendations might be of use :P

[Editor’s Choice - Great Songs to Study To: Playlist Two](http://owlcove.sg/article/editors-choice-great-songs-to-study-to-playlist-two)

Not sure whether you are into it but I usually go to youtube and listen to some mixes(dubstep/trance/hardstyle/classical)
Personally I find when listening to songs with lyrics, I get a bit distracted as the lyrics coincide with the information I am trying to remember.

passion pit is the best for a large amount of easy homework, makes me work super fast but not very efficient

when I have to study, nothing. When doing routine homework, lyrics are fine, hard homework I can’t have lyrics. Writing papers is usually what keeps me up late, I end up listening to electronic music or metal usually. The later it gets the harder and faster it gets. Until eventually I’m not listening to music I even like any more, it’s just loud, harsh background noise that I can’t fall asleep to. works for me.
