I just got re-accepted lol so its kinda late for a dorm and I need to find an apartment soooon!!!

So any recommendations? I just want a single person room with an attached bathroom. And as long as the place is safe, relatively clean, and fun I'm good lol. I'll pay as much as $500 a month, or close. Most are around that price for a 4/4 from what I've seen. I'm mostly just concerned about the enviroment, can't really tell from the sites.

Some apartments $500/room or less (for 3/3 or 4/4 units) are Cobblestone, Stoneridge, The Estates, Arlington Square, University House, and some others. Check them out and see what they offer. The Estates and University House are all-inclusive.

You should check out Canopy. I live here now it’s 565 a month but if you sign now it’s 495 for 4/4. It’s brand new, everything is brand new, has a nice pool and decent location down 20th ave a little past the Estates. I’m moving into the Estates next just because my friends need one roommate and it makes sense instead of them coming over here. Check out the Estates also, it’s pretty nice and under 500 if you sign soon.

Right now its between the Estates and the District on 62. Have you guys seen it? I’m scheduling a tour soon I just wanted some input while I wait.

I like The Canopy and I like that it’s new, but is it fully furnished?

To get a tour of the apartments is it mandatory to schedule a tour or can you just show up to the apartments (without an appointment) and be given a tour?

My daughter has lived in the Estates for 2 years and absolutely loves it! There has never been a crime that she has ever heard of, it is very well maintained and sooooo safe. It is a wonderful place…the best.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the estates. I thought the rooms were about average for the amount I was paying. I wasn’t a big fan of their parking system, or their gates. Newer properties offer way more for the same amount of money.

Also, if you plan to take the bus to get to campus, you run into full bus after full bus if you’re traveling at peak times, so the advantage of being pretty close to campus gets wasted.

If you want to be within walking distance to campus in a new complex, I would look at Jefferson 2nd Ave. It’s only 2 years old. My daughter lives there and has resigned for her 2nd year. It’s a nice 5 block walk down 2nd Avenue and you’re right at the part of campus where most classroom buildings are.

I think they are at $550 now for the 4 bedroom 4 bath units. All inclusive and furnished so there are no extra bills. 2-2s are about $650.

D’s at The Estates, too. She and her 2 roommates re-upped for their 2nd year. She loved it her freshman year: felt very safe, not too much noise (3rd floor unit away from pool by request), parking’s always a breeze, and she’s never been stuck with a bad bus situation. She kept waiting for it as everyone talked about that being a problem, but she says as long as you are not trying to go in at the absolute last second … it’s no big deal at all. Price is very negotiable we discovered. In fact, by re-signing they brought the price down even more. :)

I’m going to Gainesville next week to check out some apartments. Apart from Cobblestone, what are some other good apartments within biking distance from campus, 3/3 under $450?
