Best Biochem Programs

Does anyone know any colleges that have good biochem programs? Does a strong chem program necessary correlate to a strong biochem program?

anyone else…?

Barrons beat me to it. I suspect he is also a badger alum.

A good chemistry department is nice but it does not necessarily have to exist for a good biochem department to exist. Case in point, health science centers eg. Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon etc have biochem departments but no chem departments.

The following link is to US News thinks the best biochem programs in the country are-

however, there are lots of really great, and arguably better, biochem programs at schools that aren’t listed above.

This ranking is more spot on-

If I were looking for a good undergrad biochem department, I would focus on only universities large enough to have sequencing facilities, mass spec cores and lots of really well funded labs. Without those things, your education will suffer. Best of luck.
