I am taking AP bio and US and plan to take SAT II bio and US in May. Which of the following books/materials are best for preparing for each test?
Princeton
Kaplan
Barrons
Sparknotes

for bio (I did M) i used the barrons book. studied it for about 8 hours total (got thruogh most of the book) and learned enough to get a 770....wouldn't have broekn 700 w/out it.

good luck.

I have both the Barrons and Kaplan book for SAT II bio (and the Barrons book for AP bio). The Barrons book seems somewhat too detailed and gives superfluous informations. Is is necessary to know all the stuff in the barrons book?

It isn't necessary to get a good score, but to get a perfect score it is. I skipped over one thing and it was on the test....what are the chances? lol.

I was in a regular (non-AP) class for USH... just use the Amsco book (see like all of my other posts). Take the AP while you're at it. It really isn't that big of a difference, and it's certainly worth the extra time...

For US, Kaplan gives a very brief overview. I didn't like it that much. I actually ended up borrowing SATII US History for Dummies! lol this book is by far the best review book. Its very thorough and entertaining. It makes for a very good read.
