Best California University for Ag Ed?

What is the best college in California for agriculture education and becoming an ag teacher??

UCD and Cal Ploy SLO are probably the ‘best’ but are tough to gain admission. Cal Poly Pomona, Chico State and Fresno State and CSU Bakersfield all have solid programs. UCM is another option.

What are your qualifications and budget?

@NCalRent I was admitted to all five ag schools, UCD, Cal Poly SLO, Pomona, Fresno, and Chico. I have a 3.81 gpa, have mentoring, FFA and 4-H leadership/extracurriculars, plus volunteer experience in the school system. Chico is looking most affordable and promising right now as I was offered a scholarship and admission to their honors program. Heard their ed program is pretty solid right now but wasn’t sure that was true

Congrats - sounds like you have several very good options. Normally, I’d lean towards UCD of CP SLO but, depending on the cost difference and your budget, the scholarship and Honors program might tip the scales to Chico. They turn out a LOT of teachers and priority reg is a really great perq.

Good luck.

It was a hard decision but I chose Chico, a scholarship of $5,000 a year for four years plus the honors program and being a part of the special honors dorm was really tempting and something SLO and UCD couldn’t offer. Thank you for your help @NCalRent , reassurance made my decision easier!

Glad to help!

I hope you enjoy Chico.
