Best College? Graduate Degree in Broadcast Journalism/TV Production

Hi!

I'm from England and I am currently doing BA Multi-Media Journalism at the best University for journalism in the UK (Bournemouth University).

I want to go into television production/journalism and I'm looking at doing a postgrad degree in the USA. I have absolutely no idea which colleges are good specifically for television.

I've heard Columbia is THE one for journalism but the courses are pretty much the same as what I'm doing now. Magazine, online, print, tv and radio journalism basic skills and theory. Not sure how much more I would get out of it.

Can anyone suggest any amazing places? Who are the accrediting bodies in the USA? In England we have Skillset media, the National Council for the Training of Journalists and the Broadcast Journalism Training Council. I'm guessing I would look at the ones that are backed by your equivalent bodies.

Cheers, Tally Ho!, Jolly good show (insert more English clich

Northwestern University is THE ONE.
Columbia only gets a good name mostly because it is an Ivy.
Syracuse University is good as well.

But this is all coming from a highschool junior, so you should continue to look around.
^___^

Bloody brilliant! I will have a look at Northwestern and keep looking around!

I understand what ‘ivy’ means from watching copious amounts of gossip girl/one tree hill/90210! I feel like a yank already

You might want to look into Chapman University. They have a great program for film and TV. Here is their link. Good luck.
