North Dakota st 14,000/year
Uw eau Claire/13,00/year
Iowa 32,000/year
Nebraska 27,000/year
Iowa st 25,000/year
My 2 favorite are the 2 most expensive:( ( Iowa and Nebraska) are these worth the extra money each year????

Probably not.

Have you heard anything about any of these colleges?

We all have heard of them. Are you reseaching their web pages, collegeboard info and other sources? Are you comparing them for your major? Or?

Don’t go for a college because it is overall higher ranked or because its campus is prettier. Go for the college that would give you more opportunities and better education in your desired major or field of study.

Resident of Wisconsin or Minnesota? If so, what about Wisconsin (Madison) and Minnesota (Twin Cities)?

That’s a question that only you and your family can answer. My dad graduated from NE (go big red!), and I personally love the college and city of Lincoln, but if it’s out of your price range and would leave you with big debt then probably not. It’s a really hard decision. Good luck!

ucbalum…I don’t think the OP has a high enough GPA for Madison or U MN-TC.

Bryan, there isn’t anything wrong with any of the schools on your list. If your family can afford to send you to any of them then go to one of your top choices. If you will have to take out major loans go with one of the less expensive schools.

If I remember correctly you’re a MN resident. MN has tuition agreements with several states. I can’t remember the MSEP requirements for Nebraska or the programs covered but have you looked into it to see if that is a possibility to help bring the cost down?

I could get scholarships at nebraska because I had a 25 act and their entrance requirement is a 20

I don’t want to be a wet blanket but are you sure you qualify for a scholarship at Nebraska? I thought the minimum ACT needed for one of their guaranteed scholarships was a 27?

If you didn’t see it on their website, here is a link to their scholarship calculators.

Bryan:

Are you sure Iowa State will only be 25,000 per year? I think their COA is close to 29,000.

Here is your situation, I am guessing…you want the big time sport experience but are not eligible for your in state flagship MN. So you are looking for others that are inexpensive. You have identified some good ones, but they may require you to take out some loans. You need to figure out the amount of loan debt you are comfortable with. Run it through a loan payment calculator and see what your monthly payments would be. You will probably be surprised at how high it is.

If you want the big time sport experience at a cheap price, the cheapest that I have found is University of Wyoming. You would qualify for a $3,000 scholarship bringing the total COA down to around $22,000.
