Harvard vs. Yale
USC vs. UCLA
USC vs. Notre Dame
Duke vs. UNC

Anyone else? What are the rivalries for liberal arts colleges? The most publicized rivalries for colleges deal with big unis and their football/basketball teams, but what about LACS? And the rivalries don't even have to be especially sports-based... are there traditional rivalries among women's colleges?

A situation where people in group A compete in their minds with people in group B, while the people in group B are barely aware group A exists and would laugh at the idea of competing with them if they thought about it.

USC-Notre Dame
The two greatest college football programs of all time deserve the top spot for the best rivalry.

OSU-Michigan
Another rivalry that gets national attention. These games get crazy, Big Ten football is awesome.

Auburn-'Bama
This is just from word of mouth- don't know too much about this rivalry besides the mystique connected to these two teams.

1)Ohio State vs. Michigan
-Of all of the rivalries, this one is the best. In most rivalries, very rarely does the game have implications for teams other than the ones in it. However, it seems that every year the OSU-Michigan football game determines the Big-10 or National Championship picture.

2) Duke vs. UNC
It's amazing how close these schools are to each other. The basketball teams both have great traditions and every year they have good teams. Cameron Indoor Stadium looks awesome too.

3) Alabama vs. Auburn
Two big-time SEC football schools in the same state. Plus, the state is crazy about football, and both teams have some of the most loyal fans in the country.

Most Overrated - Harvard vs. Yale
Yeah I know, they're great schools that once dominated college sports. But that was a while ago. I value tradition, but the Harvard-Yale games are of little interest to me. Great schools, but at many times the football game has been dominated by one school for too long of a time.

Most Underrated - Pittsburgh vs. West Virginia
Not many people know about this rivalry known as the "backyard brawl." Well they should. Both athletic programs are on the rise, both in football and basketball. These schools compete for recruits, and the football game is usually a hard-hitting, physical game that is a toss-up every year.
