Best concert you've ever been to?

For me, it would be The Polyphonic Spree. For those of you who don't know them, they are a 29 piece rock type band, the call themselves "Choral Symphonic Pop." They're stopping touring for awhile, but if they ever come your way, go. Just go. They put on such a powerful, high energy show it's amazing. They look like some sort of cult with their different colored flowing robes, it's amazing. The theatrics of it all, the confetti machines, the dancing, everyone jumping around...I will never be so happy again.

Have any of you been to a concert that has done the same for you? I'm curious as to what's out there like that...

the No Snow Christmas Show in Phoenix, AZ a long time ago....

just some of the people there were...blink, dmb, alanis, no doubt, garbage, bush, smashing pump, fuel, collective soul, the verve

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Killers were amazing. I jumped up and touched his hand. This was before they were popular so that it was a really small venue. I love it when that happens!

But honestly probably the coolest show I've been to was Hijack the Disco. I think they're a semi-local band and they're pretty good. But what was really cool about it was that the show was at someone's house. It was insane, a large amount of people crammed into a house with the alky flowing everywhere. It was awesome.

Hands down the 2003 KROQ Weenie Roast... We had backstage passes and pit tickets, plus the bands playing were awesome!

Next to that I'd have to go with either the American Idiot tour (Sugarcult, New Found Glory, Green Day) or Meteora World Tour (Story of the Year, Hoobastank, POD, and Linkin Park).

Last comment, I'm not a big fan of the Killers, but must admit they were good live!

Worst show I've been too was probly Sparta and Incubus, it was just a real let down.

Dave in concert is pretty awesome, but I just saw Interpol front row a couple weeks ago--wow. That show was amazing. Roland was awesome. And my friend got a drumstick so that made it even better.

Just saw Wilco too--that was really good, they put on a nice show.
Seeing Ben Folds this weekend, we'll see how that goes.

But yeah, INTERPOL, INTERPOL, INTERPOL.

I saw Radiohead live two augusts ago. It was the closest I've come to having a religious experience yet. the band were really loose and comfortable and so the music just flowed. it was intense. It was sort of a good thing that they didn't play my favorite song, Karma Police, because if they had I would have fainted.

Shrek, you saw THE VERVE??? Man I wish they'd reform like the Pixies someday.

edit: I saw Interpol a while back too. Very good. they played C'mere before it was C'mere. this was the first TOTBL tour. and I got a setlist! infact, I used to hang out on thier message board a lot until they kicked off all the off topic discussion. :(

The Shins in Pomona, CA with Rogue Wave and the Fiery Furnaces.

tagran some friends of mine are going to the interpol concert in LA tonight.

LoL my fave concert? hands down Britney Spears' "Dream within a Dream" tour stop @ Staples Center. I don't care how people feel about her, nobody can deny she gives the best performances!

Death Cab For Cutie at Numbers In Houston

The club was getting really got and people were getting sweaty and really exhausted, and ben gibbard was so cool. He stopped the concert and had the band and the crew help pass out bottles of water to us (these were bottles that they were supposed to use for themselves between songs) and then they had a few guys bring cases of bottled water and give them out. He then asked if the owners of the club could turn on the huge fans above us and they did! It was so awesome, to see a band that truely cares about their fans.

Obviously, since the band was Death Cab For Cutie the music was awesome. :) Ben did some cool things like play guitar with his mouth! haha

Rolling Stones in San Francisco, CA november 8, 2002. absolutely insane. can you say sympathy for the devil?

Dwight Tribble and his band. We had a smal concert at our high school, and our chorus studio designed for about 100 people at max had at least 200 in there watching a performance of live jazz that was truly inspiring. Best concert I have ever been to, followed by a small concert by Kneebody which was also incredible.

I saw Franz Ferdinand last may in a small venue and it was awesome. They had an incredible amount of energy live, and after the show my friends and I got to meet and talk to them for a few minutes, which was so much fun.

A close 2nd was the Decemberists concert I went to. I was in the first row, very center. That's another band that just plays with a ton of excitement. It was great.

I'm really jealous of some of the concerts you guys have gone to, especially The Shins/Fiery Furnaces/Rogue Wave and Death Cab. :)

The Flaming Lips. 2004 @ the norva in norfolk, va.

London Symphony Orchestra. Rite of Spring, biatch

woah when did you go?? i saw them at carnegie hall like 3 weeks ago! it was awesome

I wanted to see the Flaming Lips when they came through Philly at the First Unitarian, I had work though, oy. The First Unitarian is the coolest venue in Philly ever, it's this little church basement that these really kick ass bands play and the shows are always really intimate and cool.
