<p>I don't want to spend 50 dollars on a single book. I am taking the sat in may do I have a little less than 2 months until my exam. I have math 690 reading 520 and writing 550. I want to get my scores to math 750 reading 650 and writing 650. What would be the best books for writing and cr. I already have the blue book which I think is great for practice tests but it doesn't have a lot of explanations and stuff.</p>

<p>Barron’s Writing book was great for me, and I highly recommend it. I’ve never used the CR book though.</p>
<p>What critical reading book did you use?</p>
<p>I didn’t use a book that was specific to CR. I studied the most common SAT vocab words and did practice sections in the Official SAT Review Book.</p>
<p>for critical reading, just read lots of editorials and hardcore articles in the newspaper.
Also, memorize lots of vocab and write down ones u don’t know</p>
