Best CSU for Social Work

I am going to transfer to a CSU to enroll into a BSW/MSW program. I was wondering if there are people out there who can advise on the top schools for this. I was reading the Humboldt State is a good program. I live in Southern California and I am wanting to get out and go north.

My sis got her MSW at USC…I think that is one of the best.

San Diego State is the top ranked CSU in Social Work.

USC is NOT a CSU.

Thanks for this. SDSU is a great college. I grew up in San Diego, but also very competitive to get in. Also, like I said, I want to get out of the south. I am still curious if anyone has any insight on the “CSU’s” up north. San Fransisco, Humboldt, Sonoma, San Jose, Sacramento, Monterrey Bay for Social work. Thanks again.

Whatever is cheapest. You need to graduate with zero to no debt if this is a field you want to go into.

They are all equal degree
But,
SFSU: fun city, friendly people
Humboldt: Hippy town
Sonoma: next to Napa
SJSU: high tech city
Sacramento: you know where it is
Monterey Bay: good dorm

Considering the salary of a social worker, attending the best school for social work should not be a concern if money(paying for college) is an issue.

If your intentions are to return back to SoCal, the smart choice might be attending the school in the geographic area you want to work in as you will be able to maximize your school’s/department’s resources to find internships/jobs.
Of course if you plan to live and make a career up north as well, then the best advise would be to apply to as many schools, and then guide yourself by the total cost & the desire to live/work in that area.
