[]Cal Poly SLO
[]Cal Poly Pomona
[li]SDSU[/li][/ol]

From what I have seen, and the people that I know who were accepted and now attend these universities, the most prestigious CSU's are:
1. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo
2. San Diego State
3. CSU Long Beach

Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona

SDSU/Long Beach
Some of the others

chico is a really good school. and humboldt it too... i live in the same town as humboldt, so i know a lot of people who go there, and it's a really tight community, the campus is gorgeous, but just be ready to smoke up a few joints at some point.

I know this kid who got into Pamona who hard very mediocre grades (about 2.9-3.0) and his sat scores were not good at all. everyone who were admitted to cal poly slo and sdsu that i knoiw had at least 3.5's and above 1100's on their sat

Long beach

Fullerton

Sonoma

Northridge

thanks..which are considered top tier csu's?
like the top 5-8 csu's

Not too sure about that but here's my opinion(as far as academics):

Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly pomona
San Diego/San Francisco/Long Beach
Chico

723,

SLO hands down first

then a group including long beach, chico, pomona, san diego, closely followed by fullerton, san francisco, sonoma.

san marcos and monterey bay newer schools moving up.

I am a fairly recent electrical engineering grad at cal poly pomona. I am surprised that people are as negative about cpp as they are, at least in engineering. I am a high achieving student, and could have gone to any UC except berkeley, but I chose cal poly pomona for its engineering program. The thing that most people on this forum do not realize is that Cal Poly is really an agricultural, architectural engineering school, with a few other top notch programs thrown in. Within those communities, cpp is considered one of the top schools for both employers and grad schools. Outside of those communities, it is not terribly well known. Me and most of my classmates had no problem finding high paying jobs along side MIT, UCLA, Stanford, cpslo, USC etc... grads. I literally received the same starting salary at an aerospace company as MIT graduates. I also had no trouble getting into USC for grad school, they even waived a whole bunch of prerequisites based upon my cpp degree. If you want to study engineering, you cannot go wrong with CPP. Based upon employer preferences, cpp graduates are equally as sought after as cpslo grads in engineering. I know this because my company hires just as many of cpp grads as it does cpslo grads, and I work for a major aerospace company that is a very desirable place for engineers to work.

Is San Jose State good for psychology and legal studies?

most of the posts i have seen about CPP are pretty positive. there is general agreement that SLO is the best university in the system, with pomona always in a group contending for the second spot. that's not bad out of 23 pretty darn good universities.

yes, engineering is a marquee program at pomona. but the best one in terms of national ranking is hospitality management which is either two or three depending on the national poll.

Found this information on each of the colleges websites for freshman incoming class of 2004:

CPSLO: GPA 3.77 SAT 1213
SDSU: GPA 3.48 SAT 1079
CPP: GPA 3.26 SAT 1011

SDSU eligibility index required to be only considered for admissions was 3680 at the minimum, CPP's average eligibility was 3619.

is accounting at cal poly pomona any good or respectable?

Anyone apply to CSU's or the fall 2006 semester? I still havent gotten an admissions decision from Long Beach or Fullerton yet, even though my transcripts were sent out over a couple weeks ago..anyoen know when i should expect it?

I applied to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, san diego state, fulleton and long beach. I was admitted into fullerton in early november and san diego recently but nothing from long beach or cal poly yet.

thanks...what other CSU's do u recommend on applying to? yeah my transcripts were sent out, but when i check the status they say it wasn't recieved yet...so i'm not sure if it take 2-3 weeks to update it or if my school messed up

i want to apply to SDSU, but i know they give preference to students in their service area..not sure if Long Beach does the same also..since im form the SF Bay Area they might have higher admission standards compared to students form Socal

whats your stats, im from orange county and i got into san diego so i dont think it really matters
