Best degree to pair with art and design?

Okay, So I have decided on my concentration -- A&D. I'll be starting my sophomore year in the fall and was just curious as to what everyone thought would be a good degree to pair with a degree in the arts.

I was thinking something like LSA computer science + bachelor of arts.

The thing is, freshman year I had no clue what I wanted to study. Depending on what I take summer term, I'll be going into Sophomore year with 40-42 credits. I have only taken math 105 so far, but am planning on 115 in the summer, while starting EECS courses in the fall. I do enjoy computer programing and think the pair could be great for things I want to do (work abroad, furniture / product design, web developer, advertising, programming etc)

Am I crazy? Scheduling for Fall is hard enough, I honestly can't imagine finishing in 3 more years. Is this okay?

Long Edition:

I was planning on an art and design + romance language double degree. Some personal events including my parents declaring bankruptcy and my own struggle to find a part time job downtown, and being **** poor every month got me thinking. Would this be my life with languages + arts? I have a passion in foreign languages but can't help but think languages are just something you learn for yourself and only major in them if it is your extreme passion. I just want to be able to be comfortable with my future.

Make sure you check the EECS track for timing; the beginning is really bottlenecked because you need 281 to take almost everything in the major, and you need 203 and 280 to take 281.

CS is solid, but white-collared computer work is not for everyone. I would recommend shadowing some people in the software business this summer to see if you like it.

Not many white collars in IT these days, especially in software development. Lots. of t-shirts, shorts and flip flops. I think getting involved in the software design side of IT would be a great complement to A&D. Lots of creative people are needed in web design, user experience design, mobile apps, gaming, social networking, etc

^ That’s what I was thinking. I’ve got to start narrowing down my choices, a CS + AD double degree is going to take a while haha. I’ve decided to jump into math 115 and econ 101 summer term and see how that goes. I’m in for a rude awakening compared to the very liberal arts based schedule I’ve had for the past year haha
