I got good recommendations on dorms for Kelley student. Not a big partier....Male....fun kid, but not crazy.

I MEANT to say…LOOKING for recommendations…watching TV. Got distracted.

Try the Kelley Living-Learning Center. I think it has a separate application, so even though it’s housed in McNutt (which is NOT as crazy as everyone says it is, promise), there’s a lot of kids who study hard and know how to balance fun and partying with serious matters. Plus it’s full of business majors, so that provides a huge advantage.

Thanks, leila! How fast does it fill? My son is waiting on one more application before we commit to IU…we won’t know til January…I assume that’s not too late? Doesn’t McNutt have a cafeteria close?

My son is in a similar situation, but we heard from a couple of sources that it is advisable to risk the $100 (you will get $200 of the $300 back if your son enrolls elsewhere) to submit the housing contract ASAP. The Kelley LLC is quite popular. I hope this is helpful.

Great advice justchecking.

i’m in the Kelley Living-Learning Community. Definitely do it. Aside from being in McNutt, which is a great dorm, you will be with other kelley students (some DA, some not), so there’s a lot of people in the same classes. AKA, a LOT of help on homework. huge advantage. plus, business majors play hard.

the admission rate to the KLLC was 50% this year, so the earlier you apply the better.

I would just go anywhere in NW. Kelley LLC requires certain extra classes in addition to living with students that are very similar, many of whom are extremely competitive/judgmental. I am a big fan of the LLC due to the amount of kids one can meet that will be taking similar classes but at the same time, you may limit yourself from being exposed to others that have different interests, think differently, and are not studying in the business school, which I believe can be just as important the business textbooks for one’s overall growth in college.

Half the kids in the KLLC aren’t even business majors. They just joined it because it guaranteed them a spot in McNutt.

Oh really? Where did you get the 50% statistic?

PS Don’t call a Phi Gam or a FIJI…a Gamma Delt [From another thread]

Kelley LLC was a good choice for my son last year - he was waiting for all his acceptances to come in and did not send his housing app in until April so he applied to the LLC so he’d have a better dorm location. Seemed to be more OOS students there too which was good for him.
