So, I’m a freshman that just moved onto the UT campus.
I currently live in Jester West and I CANNOT stand the bathroom.
I dread having to go take a shower because the bathroom showers gross me out to no end.
The curtains (or whatever it is) give of a dank smell and I don’t even want to know what those black stains between the grout are. (I’m praying it’s not mold)
While the dorm room I’m living in is nice, the sink that’s in it also annoys me.
I can’t help but to always look at the rust ring around the sink drain when I use the sink.
All in all my main issue is just how clean things look, and I just wanted to know if there are any dorms on campus that don’t seem to have these problems.
Also a freshman, and I live in Moore-Hill, which is complete with recently renovated bathrooms. They’re still community, and we don’t have sinks in our rooms, but the bathrooms are a lot better than I expected. I have a friend in JW and frankly I’m sorry you guys have to deal with that
My son is ECE and he has been at Duren for two years The rooms at Duren are very nice/clean and have private shared baths. The dorms cost a little more but it is well worth it.
I live in Roberts and I really like our showers! The stall dividers/walls are made of some type of marble, I’m pretty sure. It is a pretty old dorm, though.
If you don’t mind paying a higher price then definitely consider the dorms with private bathrooms, such as San Jacinto or Duren. I lived in San Jacinto and it’s very nice and modern. I visited Duren once because my friends were living there, honestly speaking I think Duren is little bit inconvenient compare to the dorms next to the Jester(if you know what I mean) , but yeah I would recommend these two.
