I've been researching for a while now and I know that Duren and Jester rooms all have private bathrooms, but are any of the dorms single dorms? I don't really want a roommate. Also, are there any with private showers too?

Private baths can be found in duren and san jac.

Private rooms can be found in Roberts, duren, san jac, and maybe others but I know of those 3 for sure. Roberts has community bath though

One or two rooms in Littlefield have their own bathroom.

There are singles in some dorms, but they’re hard to get from what I’ve heard. They’re also quite expensive. You might be better off getting a one bedroom apartment.

Why don’t you want a roommate? It’s a great bonding experience and really helps you build a base of friends during your first year…

It’s just more comfortable when you have your own space you can go to after some hard classes. And I’m also a clean freak…who doesnt want to share bathrooms with messy college students!

Nu-uh. Screw roommates. I can do suitemates, but living in such tight quarters. I mean it’s just nice to have your own space. Not having a roommate is not going to drastically affect your chances at having friends. Nah, that’s silly. I have my own room and I have a queen size bed. It’s beautiful compared to a wonky bunk bed. And knowing that for UT, both roommates pay something like 8000 for a year to live in a ONE ROOM place. I mean, c’mon! Total total rip off.

That sounds like a nice room haha. Do you live in a dorm or apartment? if so, which dorm or apt ?

Think of having a roommate as being a learning experience. It’s really an important life experience in my opinion. Many people become good, lasting friends with their roommates from freshmen year. I, myself, recommend it.

And as someone said above, if you’re dead set on getting a private room then you’re much better off finding a place off campus. The prices for singles are insane.
